Wow how times flies. It is my fourth year here at JH Moore, and I feel so fortunate to work at such an amazing school. So far, my year has gotten off to a great start. I have an amazing group of children whose minds I am ready to mold.
9/4/12 Update
I created this two years ago, and had mentioned it to some Moore folks. After today's meeting, hopefully more of you will join. As a wikispace member, you can add, upload, edit and make changes to content. This could be a great place to share info within the SDP firewall since Pinterest is blocked. Sept. 2011
I have been teaching in Philadelphia for twelve years. Last year I was fortunate enough to have joined the JH Moore Staff as a second grade teacher. This year, I will be moving up to fourth grade which is really exciting for me because when I first graduated from college, I used to say I wanted to teach fourth grade having had an amazing student teaching experience in Bethlehem with a fourth grade classroom.
I started my teaching career out at Sheridan Elementary in Kensington in December of 1999 teaching study skills and then second grade. Then I moved to Sheridan West Middle Schoolin 2003 where I began teaching computers. I was the Instructional Technology teacher and TTL (Teacher Technology Leader) for six years and a 6th grade Literacy and Social Studies at Sheridan West for a year until I got my transfer to Moore last September.
I am certified in Elementary Education and Business Education K-12.
My masters degree is in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology in the classroom.
Because Moore is such a large school, we don't always get to interact with our colleagues. I have to admit, I have only been there for a year and don't know every single staff members' names yet. Therefore, I created this wikispace so that teachers can have a place to collaborate without the restriction of walls. I like to teach teachers what I know about integrating technology in the classroom so if you want to know something just ask. I created this wiki for us to be able to collaborate and share!! If you want to know what a wiki is click on the link to the page What is a Wiki? to watch the video, "Wiki's in Plain English" that I embedded from Teacher Tube. Visit my personal webpage for links to content related sites that will be useful to your students. (Please note, this was my website while I was the computer teacher. I am working on making updates to reflect my new status!!)
